Do it yourself French manicure?

I really want a French manicure because I think they're reeeaaally pretty but I don't have the money to go out and get one at a salon.

I have white and pinkish/clear nail polish but I don't know how.

I don't want to have to go out and buy like a stencil or something so if you know how to do it with common household items that would be really cool!

thanks in advance

After you file and trim your nails, cut thin strips of tape (not clear, but masking tape) and put them on your nails so that only the tips of your nails are exposed. Then paint white, and after the tips dry take off the tape and use a q tip with polish remover to touch up any spots. Then paint the entire nail with the pinkish/clear. I do my own all the time and it's pretty easy. Take the white polish and paint just the tip of your nail that extends beyond the bed. Try not to get it too thick or it takes forever to dry. You can take a wooden cuticle stick or your other nail and draw it along the bottom edge of the white polish while it is still wet to get the line as straight or curved as you want it. Wait for the white to dry most of the way and then paint over it and the whole rest of your nail with the see through pink. Add a top coat and you're done. It takes a lot longer for french nails to dry than just plain painted nails so be careful not to smudge.
All you have to do is have a skinny brush for your white nail polish, and start from the side of your nail and in one stroke go across your fingertip. its really simple
