What service do they give you when its a manicure for men?

what i mean is that when a guy goes to get a manicure many of them do for a fact because theyve told me and ive seen them and i myself have thinking of getting one what kind of service do they offer how is the process done and save the homophobic remarks when u answer its not just a womans thing anymoreWhat service do they give you when its a manicure for men?
they do the same thing on men as they do for women. They will ask you if you would like polish. This is completely up to you. I personally like polish on men - american or clear on the fingernails and french or red on toenails. What service do they give you when its a manicure for men?
they give you a hand massage with lotion, clean, trim and file your nails, and then sometimes buff them to give them a nice healthy shine, but not like a gloss as if you put on nail polish

and i believe that's it!

God, I had a feeling it would look like that. LOL. I don't know...it's pretty weird, but I have the strange feeling I'll start to accept it, and maybe even one day get one XDThe christian louboutin Manicure, Hot or Not (I have links if u dont know what it is)?
    yuk
i think its interesting looking, but i wouldnt get it because i dont like having long nails in the first place. id rather have the shoes than the manicure :)
OOh i'm curious now,and i cannot get a picture from the link :(
    eh. its nothin special.

i have accidentally gotten nail polish on the other side of nail (where the red is in the pic) and its a ***** to get off.

imagine painting the other side of the nail on purpose...

plus im not feelin the black nail polish. black nails dont really appeal to me

i give an A for uniqueness tho
    I like it!

    : ]
    HOT!
Ehhh...You would have to be really put together and glamorous to pull this off, like a celebrity. I can see this looking trashy on an average person.
nice, i'd change the colors though.
Kinda sexy, if you ask me.
    NOOOO.

    unless your a witch??
    Ouu...I like it!
    very cute
no freakin way! I painted the back side of my nails when I has 6! (I sometimes do now!) Im shocked that some french guy stamped his name on it and thought it was original! I'm saying hot ... watch out for infection!
It's kind of gothic. And realistically very hard to do. But pretty cool for something different.

For the prom, i'm wearing a red dress. what color should i paint my nails or shall i get a french manicure????

red nails are not the way to go. trying to match your nails with your dress is not a good idea, you will look like you are wearing too much red and if the shade red is not the exact same shade it will looks really crappy.

I'd go with a neautral that compliments your skin or hair color. like pale pink, pale yellow or french. For the prom, i'm wearing a red dress. what color should i paint my nails or shall i get a french manicure????
No offense or anything, but I think red nails kind of are out of style. I think getting a french manicure would look really good. It's classy, and cute. For the prom, i'm wearing a red dress. what color should i paint my nails or shall i get a french manicure????
paint them black if you want the dress to pop
    French manicure.

why is your prom in july???
    french is the best
french is the way to go
    french, its the best
maybe get red glittery tips that would be so cute

or paint them a pale pink

Help on doing a do-it-yourself french manicure???

I have been using the little stickers to paint the white on perfectly, but the problem I'm running into is that the white takes way too long to dry and then I end up pulling the stickers off prematurely and messing up the white part. Do you have any recommendations on a solid white nail polish that dries very quickly? Or any other tips on DIY french manicures??Help on doing a do-it-yourself french manicure???
i really love maybelline colorama french tip white it drys fast and lasts long. i also ude Kiss french manicure guides....i always do my own toes and it looks great, doing your own french tips takes time, patience, and practice lol...Help on doing a do-it-yourself french manicure???
avon has self adhesive french manicure sets and they last about two weeks!

    www.youravon.com
I would just go out and have them done. It is relativly cheap if you can find a coupon!!
theyre so hard to do by yourself! its better if u just get it done at a nail salon. but if u wanna buy the lil packets, get a friend to do it for you cuz its kinda hard to do ur self. hope this helps

    xoxox reese
I use the Sally Hensen french manicure set. Instead of using the little stickers, you could start by just painting the top portion of the nair white (it doesn't matter is it's straight or not). Once it dries, using a Q-Tip dipped in polish remover, form the white part. Once you do that, just go over the whole nail with the pink polish and you're done! I only do this on my toes...it's too hard to do on nails so for fingernails, go to a salon!
You should get Maybelline Quick Dry nail polish avaliable at most drug stores.
Wish I could help but I am a guy.
If your like me and love to be pampered, I'd say just spend the $7 bucks or so to get them done at the salon and relax. Also, i know how it can be when you'd rather save that few bucks too so i recently got my own nail tools.

You'll need: A nail file, a buffer to even, smooth and shine, nail polish remover, clear nail polish, an eye shadow brush, white polish, pink if desired, and nail glue definately helps as an extra to make the white tips last longer.

All you need is a very thin coat of the glue along the ends of your nails, then brush on 1 thin coat of white. Next go back over the 1st hand and apply a second coat of the white. Then take your shadow brush and dip it in the nail polish remover. carefully just smooth out the edges, its really easy and helps. Then just throw on your pink and a smooth, shiny top coat.

I would first go get this done at a nail salon for less than 10 bucks. Watch closely how they do this and then you'll get a much better idea on how to do it yourself. Also start with your feet for practice. Have fun!
    you can try

    Sally Hansen

QUICK dri in white it works quick and is a nice consistency

or you can try a manicure pen

they sell them at SEPHORA or SHOPPERS DRUG MART

they are sold from 3 dollars up to about 15

    so just loook around

Wut r bad side affects of having a manicure done ?

i know our nails look absolutely fab after having a manicure/even if the nails rn't real...but seriously does having a manicure have any negative affects on our real nails?Wut r bad side affects of having a manicure done ?
yea when they put acryillic tips on your nails and you keep them on for a while, oxygen does not get through to your real nail and they your real nail will become weak and thin, that's why when you get the fake ones taken off they hurt and are more flimsyWut r bad side affects of having a manicure done ?
there are some side affects to the cuteness. if they are professionally done you can get a nail infection from fungus or your real nails could fall off after the fake ones do. i found out the hard way that i was allergic to the glue used and after it got under my nails and made some of them fall off. but i found a better manicurist through a friend and don't have any problems now.
u mean fake nail set? well if so then ur nails get weak and kind of flaky after ur fake nails fall off
Yes! My mom has had them most of her adult life, after you have had them once you will have to continue, it makes your nails thin, brittle and breakable. Try to stay away from it, do it the natural way, easier and cheaper.
Always ask for a base coat, because otherwise your nails can get very yellow. Also, you may notice calcium deposits on your nails, but that's so normal. I get those all the time and they can be buffed out.
Generally, no negative effects. Only cause for concern may be the scissors (if they're sterilized?) and whether the cuticles are cut too deep, may cause infection
not that i can think of any.
yeah it does have a bad affect bc the nail person files down your nails aand makes it really think which kills the nails and if you want to keep your nails healthy u shouldnt get them

Artificial Nails? or just the regular french manicure(paint)??

I was wondering if I should get artificial nails or just stick with the painted french manicure? What looks better to you and how much artifical nails cost?

Thanks.Artificial Nails? or just the regular french manicure(paint)??
    no fake nails!

    paint it on!!

it takes forever for the fake ones to come off,

and like ur nails become all yellow and gross =[Artificial Nails? or just the regular french manicure(paint)??
You can get those press on nails, scratch the surface of your real nails with an emery board and apply the press ons with nail glue and have the effect of artificial nails without them being damaged by the acrylic and drilling. This is cheaper too.

In chicago artificial nails start at 25.00.
OMG DO NOT GET ARTIFICIAL NAILS! go with just paint. I have gotten fake nails and when they took them off they were all deformed and gross! hope i helped!

In a manicure set, what are they for?

I got a manicure set and I was just wondering what these 2 ';tools'; were used for.

    http://s583.photobucket.com/albums/ss280鈥?/a>

Thanks a lot for your help in advance. In a manicure set, what are they for?
Well, the picture isn't very good, so I can't really see what the first one is. the second is for pushing back your cuticles. If you wrap a teeny piece of cotton around the other end (like from a cotton ball), you can dip it in nail polish remover and use it to clean up the sloppy parts when you finish painting :)

  • How does one do a silk wrap manicure?

When i did them in beauty school, we cut small pieces of silk to cover each nail. Then, we used nail glue to adhere the fabric to the natural nail bed. Then we used small scissors or an emery board to trim and neaten the edge. The idea behind this manicure is that it reinforces the nail. This can also be done to repair a natural nail that has a rip. Hope this helps! For the suppies, go to your local beauty supply store, Sally's is good if you have one by you.

Do acrylic nails last longer than natural manicured nails? Also, how sanitary are those nail salons....?

I've never had acrylic nails, and I'm certainly thinking about getting them, but not without getting some tips and advice on the question above, and what to expect, and ask for from those the salons.Do acrylic nails last longer than natural manicured nails? Also, how sanitary are those nail salons....?
I've gotten my nails done many many times. They only last as long as you make them and what I mean by that is that your nails will grow out and so will the nail along with it, thats when you need to get a refill if you plan on sticking with them. If the nails arent done right they can break, chip, or come up on the sides and they will do that anyway but thats if you have the on for a long time and dont bother to go back and get them fixed or refilled. Most places are ran by oriental people... thats not to be taken as racist because I dont have a problem with them I'm saying that because some are hard to understand and especially when they wear one of those white mask things over their mouths, you really have to listen to what they're saying. I know some people dont go because they hear some places are unsanitary but I've never had a problem with that and I've been to like 5 different nail salons in my area. They'll probably ask if you want a square shaped tip... thats usually what most people get when they get acrylic but some get pointed too, its your choice. If you want a design on your nail make sure you tell them when you bring them the color and sometimes they'll ask anyway what color you want. It takes about 30-45mins for you to be done. They file, and buff your natural nail and sometimes clip them if they're too long... then they'll fit a artificial nail and glue it on. Then they'll ask you how long you want your nails and you just tell them and they have a nail cutter and will sometimes show you where they'll cut and you just tell them if the length is Ok. Then they'll cut them all and then buff though and use a machine to smooth them out. Then they'll put on the acrylic and once they're done that they'll buff them down and use the machine. Then once they're done they'll ask you to wash your hands at their sink and then when you come back they'll usually ask you to pay before they paint your nails and then they'll paint your nails and once they're done that they'll sit you at a dryer until your nails are dry. Yeah, you usually tip them... I tip them like $3. I've never had someone manicure my natural nails... I do them myself but I've done someone before and she said her polish doesnt last real long because of the work she does around the house or something. Honestly, I would say a regular manicure might not last as long as acrylic but acrylic can chip, break, peel up on the sides, and it grows out with your nail.Do acrylic nails last longer than natural manicured nails? Also, how sanitary are those nail salons....?
acrilic do last long and u can keep them up or u can use the uv rays.but they make ur nails really sonf and sensitive wen u utake them off
No doubt about acrylic nails making hands look elegant. If kept up to maintenance levels of fill in ,the new growth every 3 weeks,it can work out expensive.

The down sides are,the nail technician will cut your nails short, then use a fairly rough nail shaper on the surface of your natural nail, taking a layer off so the acrylic will bond better.Doing this makes your nails sore and it can take days to settle down.

It can take at least an hour, but they will look great. You then have to have the regrowth filled in,later on.

For me the downside is you can get a fungus infection when they are left on too long.Your own natural nails get very thin due to the roughing of the surface. When you finally decide to take them off for good,it takes a year for them to grow strong again.Putting your hands in hot water is painful as the nails are very thin. Most salons are pretty clean, but you must remember the equipment used on you has already been used on many customers.
acylic last lnger. i dont know about the other part
acrilic nails are the way to go. manicures are great for natural nails but depending on how oily your nail beds are the polish chips way faster. The only downfall to acrilic/gel/fiberglass/silk nails are the up keep u can make a set of acrilic last u up to a year if u take care of them properly. I would avoid the so called ';chop shops'; the little places in mall etc, try finding a place that does the ';Extreme'; acrilic. the old acrilic has a product in it called mmn it is the ingredient that makes the nails stick better but it is supposed to be cancer causing . this is why your natural nails look like hell when u take them off with the extreme acrilic is mmn free and wont damage your natural nails but be careful dont let anyone buff them off as u are likely to buff into the natural nail and cause damage with acrilic sosk them off in acetone and the only damage is dryness till u put lotion on. also with any type of fake nail its like a band aid on skin it takes a day or two to get back to normal when u take it off... good luck!!
I get acrylic nails sometimes. I like them because the polish doesn't really chip and they last longer than a regular manicure, and they just look put together.

However, they are kind of high maintenance. You have to get them filled about every 2 weeks, and when you get them taken off, your natural nails look TERRIBLE. They have to file the tops and cut them really short, so they look bad if you don't get a manicure right away or have them put back on.

Some salons are nicer/cleaner than others but some of them are really nasty. Ask your friends where they get nails done.
Do acrylic for special occasions like a wedding you are attending or a gala party..

Natural last longer. The fake as nails grow will show they are

fake. So the upkeep cost money. Unless you invested on a kit yourself at home.

But also fake can destroy your own nails. You can get a nail fungus too. So becareful, cause also with fake nails depending length and you fall and the nail bends back it can also rip your own nail. That happened to a friend of mine and her nail didn't grow back until 10 years later when she decided to start filing down the meat there where the nail was.

Then she got her nail back..
I have had my finger cut from those places

    i stopped going.

natural is better and last longer.

Where is the best glamerous place to go and get pampered, massage, pedicure, manicure etc in LONDON?

a red might make your skin paler than it already is. you might try a midnight blue ! Works for all light skin tones .

I have had gel applied over my real nails. Do I need a manicure before I go back for a fill.?

This is my first time for gel nails.is a manicure extra or included with the gel fillI have had gel applied over my real nails. Do I need a manicure before I go back for a fill.?
    No, you don't need one.

Ne sure that you ae getting real gel nails. Beware of the scammers who give you acrylic nails, apply a UV topcoat, and tell you they are gel nails, while charging you the hight price for gel nails.

Its really easy to tell whether or not you have gel, or acrylic nails. If the tech applies any 'liquid' and 'powder' on your nails, then you have acrylic nails, UV topcoiat or not, they are still acrylic nails.

Real gel nails are made entirely from gels, which have a hair styling gel consistency to them. They are available in many colors. The gels are never in a powder form. They look like this while still in the container:

    http://www.cnd.com/Home/homelink-consume鈥?/a>

The containers should always be clearly labeled, such as the ones in the picture. This is true for acrylic nails as well. If the tech is using unmarked containers, then be sure to tell the tech that you want to see the original container. If they cannot, or will not show you this, then they are trying to hide something from you, and this is not a good thing and usually a sign of the use of poor quality products, or MMA containing products. MMA has been banned for use on nails for over 20 years now, and it is known to ruin your nails, and it can cause serious health problems as well. The only reason that they still use it is because it is so cheap to buy when compared to the products which are supposed to be used on your nails that don't contain MMA.

See this for help on what to look out for when choosing a nail salon:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rlmptKm4鈥?/a>

Avoid the discount salons. These places are the salons like the ones found in Walmart, which charge really low prices ($25 and under for a full set of acrylics). They are usually unsanitary, and you can get some nasty infections from their unclean practices See this for more info:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hu7BLbl3鈥?/a>I have had gel applied over my real nails. Do I need a manicure before I go back for a fill.?
It's included in the gell filling.
I have been a nail tech for 14 years. the manicure will be included in your service. the only that might be extra is a french maincure polish.

How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?

When I was 13 I used regular scotch tape to do the white tip, now you can find special Kits at Walmart to do it but now at 30 I'm a pro and actually do it without any tape or stickers. I do suggest that you put on a THIN coat of white, wait till it dries completely then ad another coat of THIN white. If it's too thick it can peel off easy and if you don't wait till it completely dries then the second coat can smudge the first coat and it will look like a mess. Be patient and it will come out beautiful. Good luck! How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?
Walgreens drug stores sell kits with tip guides that work great and are easy to use and look just like u went to da salon. Da brand name is Broadway and they keep them with the manicure tools section. Barely Buff is the best shade, the french pink comes out too pink. It costs about $2.99.How do you do a french manicure by yourself at home?
The best way is to buy a french manicure kit which turns out well.

Very clean afterwards:) Go to Target or Walgreens for this product.
If you go to a store that sells nail polish, next to the nail art they have ';stickers'; that you can place on your nail so that your line comes out evenly. Try that and hopefully it will work.
    File your nails first

Put on a clear base coat

Put on a two coats of pale pink

    Paint the tips white

Put a top coat of clear nail polish to seal in the manicure and keeps it from chipping.
Sally Henson has a really nice DIY yourself kit that you can buy at almost any drug store. I have used it a few times on my toes and it turned out really nicely.
All manicures are the same. We put the word 'French' in there to sell it as something more than it is. Somethoing real fancy.

Just clip nails, file down, buff them and if there is any dis-coloration, use an opaque nail hardener.Push cuticals back. That's it.
get a salley hansen home french manicure set, wal mart or any discount store, they are pretty decent. But it takes practice, especially if you do it on yourself
Go and get the Sally Hansen French Manicure kit. It has the stickers, polish and overcoat. Make sure you pick up a good clear as well. Go step by step and it will all be fine.
get white nail polish and paint across

the tip of your nail or use diferent color

  • What is a Glue Manicure?

I just got my wraps taken off (they were costing too much money) and I was wondering what exactly a glue manicure is and if it would be useful for keeping my nails strong and keep the polish on? Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks! What is a Glue Manicure?
basically, you glue on faqke nails and its not good for them. its not reccomended. What is a Glue Manicure?
    A manicure that involves glue.

Really, you just get a fake nail and put superglue (or something like that) on the nail. Then, you put it on your real nail. It takes less than a week for nails to come off (fo r me at least, it has something to do with the amount of glue you put on your nail).

    Acrylic Nails or French Manicure?

I need to get my nails done for my Prom and Tennis Banquet. They are each on Friday one week apart. I need to make sure that the nails last at least a week and a half, maybe even two. Which one should I get done-Acrylic Nails or French Manicure?Acrylic Nails or French Manicure?
French manicures dont always stay on long if they are being done on your own nails, if they are on fake nails then its ok but i would suggest Acrylic nails :]Acrylic Nails or French Manicure?
I strongly recommend acrylic. Acrylic lasts a really long time, and you won't have to worry about nails falling off or becoming damaged.

-----NOTICE--- I KNOW I AM TYPING IN CAPS BUT I AM NOT SHOUTING IT IS JUST EASIER FOR ME TO SEE %26amp; I THINK THAT IT IS EASIER TO READ.............THAT'S JUST HOW I SEE IT............

I HAVE BEEN A COSMETOLOGIST FOR OVER 17 YEARS %26amp; MY INCOME WAS DOING THE ACRYLICS SCULPTING W/ PINK %26amp; WHITE POWDERS (USING A FORM INSTEAD OF GLUED ON TIPS)

IF ANYONE KNOWS THE TRUE MEANING OF WHAT IT DOES TO YOUR NAILS IT WOULD BE MYSELF. IT DOES THIN OUT THE LAYERS OF YOUR OWN NATURAL NAIL B/C THE TECHNIQUE REQUIRES FOR THE NATURAL NAIL TO HAVE THE TOP LAYER TO BE DULL %26amp;/ BUFFED OF IT'S SMOOTH SURFACE SO THE PRODUCT ADHERES CORRECTLY.

ALSO IT DEPENDS ON YOUR TECHNICIAN DOING THE PROCEDURE AND HOW MUCH EXACTLY THEY BUFF OFF FOR THE FIRST SET %26amp; FOR ALL THE FILL INS IN THE FUTURE.

THERE ARE PROS %26amp; CONS FOR THE ';FAKE'; NAILS. YOU SAID IT YOURSELF ';FAKE';......HAVE YOU EVER HAD THE ACRYLICS PUT ON?..... HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT GETTING THEM?....ANSWER YOURSELF IN 5 SECONDS %26amp; YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT TO DO FROM THERE!!

    PROS:

    1. THEY LOOK NICE (BUT SO CAN YOUR OWN IF DONE RIGHT %26amp; TAKE CARE OF THEM SUCH AS MAKING YOURSELF HAVE A HEALTHIER DIET TO ENCOURAGE BETTER NAILS)

    2. NAIL POLISH STAYS ON LONGER ( BUT SO CAN YOUR OWN NAILS IF YOU DO THE PROCEDURE CORRECT AND USE A PROFESSIONAL SALON PRODUT SUCH AS OPI (BASE COAT, COLOR COAT, SUPER SHINY TOP COAT)

    CONS:

    1. FIRST INTITIAL START UP COST- $30-$45

    2. FILL INS COST OF $20-$25 EVERY 2 WEEKS

    3. THE SCARE OF GETTING A TECHNICIAN THAT DOES NOT PROPERLY STERLIZE THEIR TOOLS %26amp; IMPLEMENTS--THIS CAN LEAD TO NAIL FUNGUS %26amp; OTHER DISEASES. WORSE CASE IF NOT TAKEN CARE OF WHEN YOU GET IT - NAIL REMOVAL OR EVEN WORSE.

    4. IN MEDICAL SITUATIONS EMTS %26amp;/ DOCTORS USE YOUR OWN NATURAL NAIL BEDS TO SEE IF YOU HAVE PROPERLY BLOOD CIRCULATION %26amp; THEY CAN'T SEE THAT IF YOU HAVE ';FAKE'; NAILS OVER YOUR OWN NAILS. (THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED WHEN YOU HAVE MAJOR SURGERY)

IT REALLY DEPENDS ON YOU %26amp; THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT YOU ARE!

I PERSONALLY THINK THEY LOOK ';FAKE'; %26amp; IT TELLS YOU THAT THE PERSON MAY BE:

A.) THE TYPE TO NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER THEMSELF. SUCH AS ONE WHO BITES THEIR NAILS - THEY HAVE A NERVOUS HABIT OR INNER SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.

B.) SELFISH OR INTO THEMSELF... IN ORDER TO GO AND HAVE THE EASY SOLUTION OF HAVING FAKE NAILS PUT ON TO PACIFY THE SECURTIY OF FEELING GOOD %26amp; ATTRACTIVE.( YOU SHOULDN'T NEED ';FAKE'; STUFF TO FEEL ATTRACTIVE--YOU MUST LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHAT'S INSIDE %26amp; WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU!)

I THINK IT IS MORE ATTRACTIVE TO SEE A LADY WITH NATURAL LONG NAILS THAT ARE MANICURED WELL. IT SHOWS THAT SHE IS MORE INTO THE ';NATURAL'; WAY THEN ';THE QUICK FIX'; LIKE THE REST OF THE WORLD........BE DIFFERENT......BE UNIQUE......BE BEAUTIFUL...... LET'S ADMIT LADIES....YOU KNOW THAT YOU WOULD PROBABLY BE MORE JEALOUS OF A LADY WHO HAS LONG ';NATURAL'; FRENCH MANICURED NAILS THEN A LADY WHO HAS ';FAKE'; FRENCH MANICURED NAILS.....YOU KNOW IT!.......

....AND YOU KNOW IT THAT A MAN (THAT IS WORTH BRINGING HOME TO MEET MOM %26amp; DAD) DEFINITELY WOULD PREFER THE NATURAL OVER THE FAKE....THE SAME GOES WITH A LOT OF MAKE UP. NATURAL IS THE WAY TO GO!!!!..................

IM SURE THOSE WHO ARE READING THIS HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS %26amp; ARE PROBABLY ';BOOING'; ME FOR MY OPINION....BUT THAT'S WHY YOU ASKED YOUR QUESTION FOR IS TO GET A FEEL FOR WHAT TO DO. AND WE ARE RESPONDING.

GOOD LUCK %26amp; BE FILLED WITH BLESSING!!

Should i get french manicure acrylics (fake) or just polish on real nails?
I had years of wearing acrylics, it's taken 2yrs to get my nails back to a half decent state. They were wrecked. If you want to get extensions go for gel or silk overlays they are much better for your nails than acrylics. If you decide on acrylics don't go for really cheap ones, go to a place like nails inc. as they don't use drills or anything. It costs a bit more but the damage isn't half as bad x x x
I get acrylics all the time not just for special occasions, I don't care if there bad for my nails because I rarely take them off. NOBODY has said I'm ';fake'; because most of the girls at my school get them or just don't care. Plus they look better and you don't have to worry about the polish chipping off.

    Answer my question?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
if your own nails are strong and the way you like them then leave them. i had acrylics for nearly 3 years. they've been off almosty a year now and my nails are only beginning to be strong now.
acrylics look much nicer than polish and they look great all the time which of course polished nails do not. All depends if you have time to constantly paint and repaint your nails.
Polish your real nails so that they can grow healthy. Once you have them long enough, go get a french/american manicure. They will look great and natural.
i'd go with your real nails because acrylics are very bad! my mom had them and before she got them her nails were super hard. Now they are not as hard and break really easily.
i think if you have got nice nails you should just polish your real nails it looks so much better fake nails look awful and tacky real wins every time :)
acrylics it u want lenght and want the nail polish to last longer but it will make ur nails thiner

I get my real nails done thou
i think fake nails are really pretty,

    but only on special occasions

real. acrylics are very bad for the nails.

How to do french manicure ?

    1. Soak your hands in a warm bowl of water or whole milk to soften your cuticles.

    2. Clip any hangnails or bits of dead skin and use a tool to push back the cuticles (the clearish skin that starts growing over the bottom of the nail). Clip your nails so they're not too long.

    3. Use a nail file to shape your nails and make sure you rub it on the tip of the nail in one direction. Don't rub back in forth in a sawing motion or you'll break your nails! Wipe or blow off nail dust, then go over them quickly with nail polish remover to make sure your nails are clean.

    4. Go over nails with a clear or sheer color nail polish, such as a sheer pink.

    5. Use white nail polish to paint a tip on the nails, then use a nail polish remover pen to carefully touch up or shape the area. If you don't have a pen you could also use a Q-tip. Let nails dry.

    6. Add a clear top coat to protect the look of your freshly-painted nails. How to do french manicure ?
there r kits at stores (they come with like white and clear and like a really light pink color nail polish (i dont use the pink but u can if u want) and it comes with stickers that u stick right under the nail tip) so first u stick the sticker under the nail tip then u paint the white (and its ok if the paint getsvon the sticker cauz that's wat its there for...just like painters tape) then u wait for the white tip to dry COMPLETELY...cauz if u take it off when its wet then u r gonna mess up the whole thing after finishing all the white tips then gloss them with the clear nail polish (apply it over the tips too) wait till drys then enjoy lolHow to do french manicure ?

whenever i try to manicure my fingers i get on fine untill i get to putting on the white nail polish. i put on the pink, leave it to dry completely then put on the white strip but after i paint the white on i take off the strip and it takes half the pink paint with it! how do i stop theis??? please help quickly !!How do i do a d.i.y manicure?
you do it your self? How do i do a d.i.y manicure?
Well the strips are the problem NOT the pink. what u have to do is put tape on ur whole finger but leave a little strip that does not have tape on it once the pink is completly dry(let pink sit for an hour) then take off the tape and enjoy! Works for me! If it does not work for u try this website and it has other ideas.

    http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h鈥?/a>
do the white first, then take the strip off, let it dry, then put the pink over it. the pink is usually translucent so the while will show through.
better nail polish (better nail polish DOES stay better!) and less-sticky tape. try masking tape.

Do women think it's sexy if a man has a french manicure?....?

i like to get my nails done french style and i was at a club recently and was dancing up a storm with a half dozen hot girls....after awhile i went outside with one girl to get some air and she noticed my recently done french manicure....she was kind of surprised and shocked and left and went back into the dance hall...my nails aren't long but they're squared and well manicure with white tips....Do women think it's sexy if a man has a french manicure?....?
What is wrong with you guys, (and girls)? Prior to WWII women were not permitted (think about that - not permitted) to wear pants. Now they have more pairs than I have. High heels were originally created for men - for royalty and also for soldiers (to keep their feet in the stirrups of the saddles). That's why cowboy boots have higher heels than flat shoes. Clothing does not make you gay and neither does your fingers or toes.

For numerous years women have worn whatever the hell they wanted - feminine or NOT and no one looks at them and thinks of them as MEN. Women can wear men's clothes, men looking shoes and if they want to they can keep their nails painted or NOT.

Change is good. Nice looking nails are not just PRETTY but they tell everyone that you care about your looks.

Not all men like beer and not all women like wine.

We should have the right to do as we please - and if we please to get french manicures - so be it!!!. Women feel threatened when men want to do things they consider feminine but they never think about it when they are not feminine. Why is that?

Any way I am rambling. I believe that all of us should have the right to dress and do what we want provided we are not doing anything illegal. Contrary to what you may hear - clothes do not make the man (or woman) and certainly painted nails have nothing to do with gender.Do women think it's sexy if a man has a french manicure?....?
Hell yea that is sexy....0only if you have nice lookin feet though

it is extremely weird for a man to get a white tip..... however... i also find it a bit disgusting when a man doesnt take care of his hands...... my boyfriend get a manicure and pedicure every other week .... at first i made fun of his shiny clear nail polish but now that is something we enjoy doing together..... i think you just need to find a girl who appreciates a clean guy who takes good care of himself.... hope this isnt rambly and helps you a bit
It's not sexy. Neither are chipped narly nails.

I suggest that you continue to get manicures, but to just keep them clean... no polish... nada. Just nice and clean.

It doesn't come off as gay... because I don't know any gay men who get french manicures! Unless you're a drag queen, ditch it!
    dude you're gay

based on the fact you dance and because you got a girlie french mani, you're gay.

get some guy friends; eat some hot wings; drink a pitcher of beer at a sports bar while watching a baseball game to man yourself up.
women will stare but that will be because they think its wierd and not because they like it

its okay to paint them with clear varnish if you want to pretect them or make them look shiny but a french manicure if being very femine and going a bit far
Um.....NO. That is GROSS. It makes you seem really gay. I hate it when guys get manicures. Even if it's just the clear polish. It is so weird.
HELL NO! It is definitely not sexy......if you want a manicure u r free to get one but to have a french manicure that is definitely a NO NO ...

How do i do a french manicure at home? ?

wats the easiest way to do a french manicure at home? with a perfect line? How do i do a french manicure at home? ?
I do mine at home once a week. Just get some white polish, a clear top coat, a small paintbrush, and some acetone. Put the white on your tips(usually two coats), it doesn't need to be perfect. Then take the paintbrush and sweep it under the line, to make it even. This takes some practice to make it perfect, but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Then just take your clear coat, and put it over the top once they're all dry. This is the best looking french manicure, and it lasts long too. If you were to go get your nails done in a salon, this is how they do it too. Good luck!!!How do i do a french manicure at home? ?
    I use sellotape :)

Put it across the bottom of the white of your nail, paint it white, then when its COMPLETLEY dry, cut/peel the sellotape off and paint your whole nail with a nude coloured polish. Some nail sets even come with guides so you don't have to use sellotape like i do :P
u get freanch manicure kits...theres eaasily available at spencers, macy's and its reeely fun and simple to do at home, they provide the strips and stufs, and the instructions are available to,,so have fun
do the bottom coat. 2 times.

for the white line steadly make one. its easy after a few times. for the right had have a bud do it or do it your self. then cover it with a clear coat.

Can you do a french manicure on your toes?.?

can you put tips on your toes like your nails? for that french manicure look? i mean put on the fake nails (tips) cut them down add the acrylic? (sorry if i spelled it wrong) for that french look? only answer this question if u have seen this down or have had it done? hmm : ]Can you do a french manicure on your toes?.?
ooooh. I didnt read the whole question at first. Yes getting a pedicure with the french manicure style is too cute, but adding acrylic to your toes is just wrong. (not to mention kinda ghetto) It can be done, but you are asking for some serious foot fungus bacterial issues. It will leave your toes Seriously JACKED UP!!!!. Skip it Sis. You and your and feet deserve better. Can you do a french manicure on your toes?.?
I have seen it done and have had it done. To do the french manicure you do not need tips. They can be done with acrylic as an overlay so they do not become so thick or long. A tip is typically used to add length.
Acrylic toes are done by ';sculpting'; the acrylic on the free edge of the toenail by using a form. Just like a nail tech would put a set of sculpted nails on hands. The only difference is that you don't maintain acrylic toes. They just grow out; no fills. If you have it done just make sure the salon is clean and ask questions about how they sanitize their implements. A good nail tech should be able to answer these kinds of questions without delay.
i get a french manicure on my toes alot doing the summer. i dont use fake toes thou but you can buy them with the french manicure already on them at alot of places. try cvs or rite-aide for a good price
    Yea.
    yes
    yes.
You can get a french manicure on your toes anytime but NO tips. It can cause you a fungus infection and won't be very comfy with closed in shoes. It's a very feminine way to decorate your feet in the summer. Any chemical on your toes can cause feet problems. Your nail bed will suffer dearly. I have a french manicure and pedicure all the time in the summer and it's very classy.

What would you think if a guy got a pretty french manicure?

If it's a basic french manicure - white tips with tinted, not pink, nails - then I thinks is really attractive. The tips should not be long. Maybe an 1/8th to a 1/4 of an inch? Not exactly sure about the exact length but keep them short. So, done in this manner, it looks really good.

If your talking about pink and white with designs? That's a little extreme.

FYI, my boyfriend gets white tips and I really think it looks good on him. Of course, I love to paint his toenails red ;) It's really a perception thing. Most perceive that guys can't get manis and pedis with polish because it's a ';girl thing';. I say go for it as long as you don't overdue it.What would you think if a guy got a pretty french manicure?
Pretty? as in girly pretty? Well that would be pink with flowers all over..so i guess that would be gay. Honestly, french manicures r a girl thing. so either the guy is trying to make a statement or..he is gayWhat would you think if a guy got a pretty french manicure?
I would assume that he is gay, which is no problem at all.

I don't think a straight man would ever do that, but if it for some reason did I would think it really weird/strange.
ummmm well a french manicure is different from just taking care of your nail. If they took care of their nails then that would be fine but the french manicure would either indicate to me torture or gay
well i think he would be gay probably, but thats ok..i wouldn't want my man to get a french manicure, he already has nice nails anyhow
    Pansy!!!!
I would think he was gay...
    hmmm, hes gay..

I want a french manicure and pedicure, how long does the varnish last before it chips?

If you have quite long nails you could have a natural nail overlay on your hands and toes! Its either gel or acrylic applied to your natural nails, without tips or sculpting, and it lasts for weeks and looks miles better than enamel!I want a french manicure and pedicure, how long does the varnish last before it chips?
You can actually get your own. White nail polish and clear (the proper french manicure ones) so when it chips, just over do it. I would say paying is best, especially when chinese people are working there (there so artistic!). Designs do last longer i think, as my sister goes in there for french manicures and they do mine free! Lol. I have like pink with flicks in the corner, etc.I want a french manicure and pedicure, how long does the varnish last before it chips?
When you get it professionally done it usually last 1 to 2 weeks depending on how ruff you are in your daily life. To make it last longer you can add your own clear coat every other day. I hope this helps!
It chips immediately when you open the door to the salon to leave, and then more when you try to open your car.
I think it depends on how hard you are on your hands and feet. Usually it last 1-2 weeks. If you get them professionally done you can get a gel over coat which will make it last a little longer

The only way to go!I want the process step by step for manicure and pedicure . Please help me?
    First, wash hands...

    remove polish if any...

Cut/trim nails if its long or to however length you want...

Or if you don't cut the nails, then file the nails, square or round, or to however shape desired.

Soak fingers in lukewarm water %26amp; add in handsoap. Soak for 5 minutes or less.

Dab some cuticle softner on the cuticles.

Use a pusher to push up your cuticle, but do that lightly, then clean the underside of nails if there are visible dirt or such.

Then, nip cuticle with a nipper. Nip just the visible cuticle thats lifting up. People tend to think that if you cut off as much of cuticle as you can, thats the wrong idea. If you cut too much cuticle, it will grow excessively more. So do that lightly as well.

When you're done with nipping the cuticle, buff it with a buffer.

After buffing, dab on cuticle oil onto the cuticles and then massage hands, hitting the right pressure points and then have them go wash their hands...

When they come back, clean it by spraying alcohol on the nails from any leftover residue.

    Base coat.

    Polish (2x).

    Top coat.

    P.S.. the girl above, on ';wipe oil off of nails, and then paint them.';

***Wiping off the oil and jumping straight to painting them will cause the polish to fall off or mess up within minutes even after the polish on the surface has dried.

As for pedicures... basically same steps for manicures...

    after you buff and oil..

    use pumice stone.*

Heck no! Where I live, pedis are about $30 and manis are $25... But its five dollars extra if you french tip them. I have gone to the same salon for years and they are awesome... Its a Vietnamese family, I wouldn't trade for the world! Is 30 dollars a lot for a manicure and pedicure (+ $5 tip)?
no because u get it do professional if it is less thn tha that is good. i don't think they should pick the tip u should depending on how good is it.
All in all, you shouldn't pay that much just for nails.. but its a good deal...mien sometimes cost like $50.
no that's a really good deal. I've gotten a manicure for 25 and a pedicure for alto more.
I recently got a pedicure for $35 (not including tip) - it had a little flower design on my toes. Hope this helps!
Nope that's reasonable..It usually costs me 40 without tip where I go.
No I don't think so because thats $15 each and I think thats a good price!!
    noooooo! not at all!

when i get my pedicure its $75

beauty schools are a great option for low-priced mani/pedis and the students do really well. at the school i own, a mani/pedi is $18How do I give myself the perfect manicure/pedicure without having it done some where yet they will stay on !?
    french manicure/pedicure

the nails polish has to be really strong. Sally hansen / essie are good. Put a piece of duct tape/strong tape on the nails put leave the part that you want to paint. Put a layer of white nails polish, wait until it fully dries. Then take off the tape, and paint a clear/pinkish top coat. 2 top coats will do :] If you want to use rhinestones, put the rhinestones on before the 2 clear/pinkish coats so they will also stay. Make any designs before the top coats.
I go get mine done at my beauty school once everymonthand when they fall of or break i soak them in acitone to get them off and replace them with the ones that your buy at department stores it cheaper this way and does not max out my credit card!
trim and sand the edges now rub with vinegar to etch the surface now use several light coats of color and another of gloss clear
Make sure you remove all old polish. Use your cuticule creme and gently push cuticles back. Next use your nippers and carefully cut away all dead skin. Moisturize your hands. Now.....very important....you must take your fingernail polish remover and cleanse the nail plate again. removing all residue from cuticule creme and moisturizer.

Next, it is very important to use a base coat. Always. This helps protect the nail from turning pink or orange when you use dark colors. But most important, it helps grip the polish and hold it.

Use two coats of polish. Let it dry three or four minutes at least before sealing it all with a good top coat.

Now you have the perfect mani/pedicure that should last.

Many nail salons welcome walk-ins, so when you enter the shop, tell them you would like a french manicure. ( Acrylic or Manicure with white tip polish) Then when you sit down tell the nail lady you want it square shaped not round.

They will do it the way you want ,as long as you tell them before they start :)
when you say white tips i think your talking about acrylics or gels.um but if your talking about just a basic manicure well they tell you to pick out your color say you want french.if you want acrylics say you want a french on your acrylics and if you want gels ask for pink and whites which are the best or french.when you want a french manicure you tell the nail technician you want french.its actually really simple
You say, ';I'd like a French manicure (or French tips) and I would like them to be more square than round.'; The nail tech will usually try to make the ends of your nails the same shape as your cuticles because that it what looks the most natural/well-balanced. If you want them even more squared-off than that, tell her (or him...).

    Hope this helps.
just say you want a french manicure. It's standard to be square tipped and not round, especially if you are young. If you're unsure though just say you want them square tipped and not round. Don't worry, just pop in and ask!
you ask the lady for them. When I go, they put on the nails and then when its get to the painting portion they ask if I want white tips. Voila! French Manicure. They will ask you how square or round you want them.
Just tell them what you want and they'll listen to you :)

    French manicure nail polish?

I want a nailpolish that is fast drying and glossy! Some nail polishes are like really chalky and mistakes can be seen very easily. NYC is the perfect consistency but it takes forever to dry. I used to have Maybelline Wet Shine in white but they discontinued it. Any ideas? I have Rimmel London and Sally Hansen but they aren't glossy :) I've been trying to find the right one for years. Thanks!French manicure nail polish?
i would use OPI polish they have two colors that i use on my clients the pink is called passion and the white is called alpine snow, i use these prob 9 times out of 10 when i do a french. also its not the white that you want to shine its the top coat you put on afterward. i like to use super shiney by creative nails, its also a professional polish like OPI. i like my nails to really shine as well no matter what color i have on so i always use the creative top coat. good luck!French manicure nail polish?
I am looking for an old Maybelline nail color that is maroon with some gold looking flecks in it. Does anyone know what color that is??? thanks

    pink =]
It doesn't matter if the white is glossy... or the nail polish for that matter.

Put on whatever polish you want, just apply a high-shine top coat.

Buff your nails too. The ridges in them make it look uneven, thus less shiny.

    Hope that helps! :)
OPI. it's what they use in most salons, and it is great nail polish. one bottle will run you around 7-10 bucks though. well in California it will.
Use Sally Hansen then put a gloss polish on over the white polish. That's what I do and it looks great. It also helps prevent chipping. :)
i love seche brand nail polish for french manicure. they have a nice soft white and a pale pink or buff that is very natural. and a super fast dry top coat that is pretty shiny.

I recently had a french manicure done, and they used clear over the whole nail instead of a color and it was super shiny for a while.
french manicure, needs the lightist pink u have, and the most pure, i sparkels work to!!!!

Any tips on applying a french manicure?

i find it hard to get a straight lineAny tips on applying a french manicure?
If you are ';freestyling'; the white tip the rest the wrist and brace your little finger on the hand you paint with on the table, this steadies your hand and helps you achieve a straight line. Guide tapes are good but you have to apply them straight in order to get a straight paint line. Also the line can look a little harsh. Freestyling the line is softer and more natural. It's harder and takes practice, but if you rest your wrist and finger on the table your hand wont wobble or shake.Any tips on applying a french manicure?
I take white polish and apply a thin coat to the tip of the nail and let it dry for a minute. Then I take an eyebrow brush, dip it in nail polish remover and define the line. Once I have the perfect line I put a coat of base coat, then two coats of a light pink and then a top coat. I always get lots of compliments. Hope this helps!
Put scotch tape on the part where you want the paint to stop...and put it on... then remove the tape.. you have a pretty even line..

Sometimes this doesn't work...if this happens just completely remove it and try again.

This is what I do.. and it usually works for me...I hope it works for you!
take tape and put it on the full big part of your nail you know what i mean?like not the tips...anyway dont put tape on however much you want to be white then panit your nail but dont tke the tape off until it is completely dry..
you can buy the kit it's affordable or if you want you can get a strip of tape and put it on your toe nail and then paint the line on the spot where you didn't put the tape so it will come out straight
me too. A lot of kits have a really thin brush for the white polish but i find that a regular brush is easier. If that makes any since...
Just go to the nail salon to get them done.

How do i shape my nails and the do a french manicure?

Getting a professional looking french manicure and pedicure is nice, but can be pricey at the salon. Giving yourself an at-home French manicure and pedicure is much less expensive and easier than you think.

    French Manicure

路 Begin by removing any old nail polish with a cotton ball or pad.

路 Next, exfoliate your hands with either a salt or sugar scrub and then rinse thoroughly. By exfoliating, you鈥檒l remove any dead skin on your hands and leave them feeling soft and looking smooth.

路 Apply a cuticle cream or drop of sweet almond oil to your cuticles. Leave on for a few minutes and then using an orange wooden stick, carefully push back cuticles until they are all even with each other. Rinse your nails with warm water.

路 With a pair of nail clippers and an emery board, trim and shape your nails evenly. The best way to shape nails is to keep them straight across the tips and round on the edges. Never file nails back and forth across the nail. Doing so can damage nails. Instead, move the board in one direction when filing.

路 Next, apply a clear base coat over each of your nails and allow a few minutes to dry. A base coat will help strengthen nails.

路 Once the base coat is dry, apply one or two coats of a stark or off white nail polish on the nail tip and allow polish to dry between coats. If you鈥檙e worried about getting the polish past your nail tips, there are nail guides available to help you. Simply apply the guides to the edge where your nail bed meets the tip and apply your polish where the guide and tip start.

路 Next, apply a translucent pink or nude polish over the entire nail and allow to dry completely.

路 Finally, apply a clear topcoat for shine and added protection to your french manicure.

    French Pedicure

路 First, remove any old nail polish from your toes with a nail polish remover.

路 Next, soak your feet in a tub of warm water. You can add a sweet almond oil to soften feet, if you鈥檇 like. While you鈥檙e at it, use a pumice stone to smooth away dead skin cells, then rinse feet thoroughly.

路 Use a cuticle cream or oil to gently push back cuticles.

路 Next, trim toe nails straight across with toenail clippers. Using an emery board, carefully smooth away any sharp edges.

路 Place a toe foam separator between toes and apply one base coat of clear nail polish.

路 Once the base coat has dried, apply a white nail polish across the tips of your toes. If you need to, use a set of french manicure guide tips to help you with this process. Apply the guide at the base of your toe just before the nail tip and polish starting at the edge of the guide where it meets the tip.

路 Apply a translucent pink or nude nail color over the entire toenail. Allow to dry before apply a second coat.

路 Finally, apply a top coat to give your new french manicure shine and protection.

That鈥檚 it! Now all you need to do is to go out and show it off to the world! How do i shape my nails and the do a french manicure?

what brand of polish is best for a 10 year old?Trying to give daughter a manicure?
Sally Hansen make some very nice sheer colors that are good for nails. Just remember to put on a base coat so that her nails are not damaged. I wouldn't recommend letting her wear it for too long, and always allow a ';breathing'; period between manis!

Nail decals are also a fun simple way to add a new look with just a base coat, then a top coat over the decal.

I think it is a sweet thing to do for your daughter if she wants it. She's not a nail-biter, is she? Although, having nails look nice is a good deterrent to biting!Trying to give daughter a manicure?
Regular nail polish. As long as she doesnt try to eat it. I think she is old enough to know better.

Thats good you want to give her a mani. I took my lil sis for a mani pedi when she was 10 and she loved it. Shows her its fun to take care of herself.

Never too young to take care of the nails. I see parents do a lot worse. Like hair color before the age of 5.
lmao...don't give her a full manicure..just paint her nails..come on..she's wayy too young to worry about how they loook..just make sure theyre clean and that she washes them...use any nail polish like revlon or sumthing..it doesnt matter as long as they look cute =]
any. just make sure its not a cheap crappy brand
This isn't something that ten-year olds need to be doing, unless you are trying to help her break a nail biting habit. If you insist on the manicure, use natural or colorless polish. Cutex is as good or bad as any.

Do people with only one hand pay full price for a manicure?

I don't know. I guess not -- why should they? They're not using the extra nail polish or supplies. If someone is disabled and doesn't have another hand, then I wouldn't charge them twice as much as what their service costs. It's similar to ';touch-ups'; in salons -- some salons will fix nicks or chips here and there in your nails, and just charge depending on how much they had to fix. First apply 2 coats of white polish. Let it dry in between. Then Use a fine brush and acetone. Slowly removing the white polish to create a happy smiley line.

Then apply a coat of base cost.

Apply 1 or 2 coats of light see through pink or beige polish or whatever you prefer.

My suggestion - Bubble Bath from OPI - a beige colour

or - Sweet Heart from OPI - a pinkish colour.

Or a pink clear polish and paint over your nails but not the white tip.

Or you can put clear on top and then Top coat then your done.

    Patient and precise

i know alot of ';metrosexuals'; do this and it seems more common the higher social class that you are. how would you feel if your boyfriend wanted to get a manicure? Would you think he is gay? What about if he was a really masculine guy but this was the only unique thing about him?Ladies- how would you feel if your bf got a manicure? Would you support it or not?
You are being ridiculous, just because a man wants to get a manicure does not make him gay. Many professional men, doctors, lawyers etc. get weekly manicures. If anything you should be happy that your boyfriend cares so much about his appearance.

What is the best manicure color for you toenails?

dont say french im sick of themWhat is the best manicure color for you toenails?
For tips stick with white. If ur whole nail. Use ur favorite color. What is the best manicure color for you toenails?
The best pedicure color for your toenails would be OPI You make my Vroom. It is a bright red and very Hot
It depends on what type of job you have and what type of shoes you often wear.

If you have an office or proffesional job and are likely to be inside or attending business meetings/gatherings year round you will probably have more of a chance of wearing open toed shoes, you should probably stick with a very light pink or a uniform darker color (crimson, mauve, etc.), nothing flashy.

If you wear sneakers and closed toed shoes all the time go with whatever you like to look at.
I think the best colour for toes is the colour you like best. There is no right or wrong colours - just the one you like. Personally, I prefer corals.
OPI Cajun Shrimp or My Chihuahua Bites
depends on what you are wearing

some pink shades can look really nice and purples.

maybe have some nail art too?
I think the best looking color is dark red, almost look like black, don't do bright red, they just ugly. If you have a darker skin try something look white-ish like creamy white, or grey-ish white. My favorite is Pink Nude from Orly. It's very pretty.
I love pinks, with Fall here I just go with lighter pinks now.
It all depends on your skin tone. I'm dark-toned lady, and I often choose colors like brown, tan, or gold. Or you can try your favorite colors.

But for a true french manicure, it is probably worth it, to have it done nicely, and not have to deal with painting with your non dominant hand.I'm growing my nails nice and long, then I would like to get a french manicure - how much would a french ma...
It would cost about......... 15 dollars. You know you could shoose me as best answer!
in like a salon about 拢18

That's what I do.. no fake and painted =P.. Mine costs me 拢6 (done at a nail shop).

Checked the prices for a french manicure at 2 beauty salons and both have them priced at 拢12. I would say it's cheaper to go to a nail salon for this reason! x

Omgi love french mani and pedi the place were i go is 12 for manicure and 14 for pedicure and only gets the thin line if you get the thick white line it makes it look nasty but if you get the thin wihite line it makes it look really pretty and classy !
I have my nails long and always get a french manicure done. The price'll vary from shop to shop but my nail shop charge a fiver
About 20-25 pounds I would think.. Depends on whether you want just a manicure or a pedicure and a manicure :)
Varies from salon to salon but I charge 拢12 for a french manicure with polish or 拢16 for a gel french manicure (it lasts longer).

    Hope this helps.
    Hey :D

Do Acrylic or manicure work better?

I will be going back to school in augest and wondering if i should get a Acrylic or a manicure work better plese helpDo Acrylic or manicure work better?
acrylicDo Acrylic or manicure work better?
acrylic are very nice and preety, but since ur going back to school a manicure will be much easier for u since u have to do alot of writing and stuff
    Acrylic stays longer,

    a manicure is nicer.*

    *i like manicures better
    acrylic
Acrylic works better, because a manicure the nail polish can chip very easily and quickly, but acrylic can hurt to take off!
if you have nice natural nails, I would get a regular manicure. I have nice real nails, and keep the polished with either french manicure, or nice light pink. I don't see the point of acrylics.
Depends on how much money you can spend on your nails. If you can go to the salon every few weeks, acrylic are great. You fingernails will always look wonderful. If you cannot, then get a manicure. Pay attention as to how they do it so you can do it yourself at home. Fingernail polish stays on acrylic for about 3 weeks without chipping or peeling. It stays on real fingernails just a few days.
acrylic there so much better and stay on better and also look better!!!!!
well acrylic messes up you real nails and manicure is the paint on your real nails so if i were you i would go with manicure
i think you should get acrylic cause manicurec can chip after a few days but the acrylics are very painful to take off if you dont really like them. my sisters friend(high school) got them and said when she took them off her nail almost came off with it.
i thynk acrilacik workz betta cuz it lastz longa
  • skin problems
  • Has anyone ever tried the opi manicure/pedicure scrub and massage ?

if so please tell me how you used it, if it was worth it and what was the resultHas anyone ever tried the opi manicure/pedicure scrub and massage ?
I tried the pedicure in the beauty salon. It was ok. But the nail color started to chop off too soon. I think even less than in 1 week. Usually the professional pedicure lasts 2 weeks for me

HOw do I get a perfct manicure at home??

well what i do is i file my nails first. then i buff them and then i wash my hands.

i then apply moisturizer and rub it in to my cuticles and massage my nails.

then take a q-tip dipped in water and rub over the nails so that their is no residue.

then apply a base coat of polish. let dry for a few seconds.

then apply one coat of polish carefully. (take your time) if you mess up dip a q-tip in polish remover and touch up the areas.

reapeat that step for a second coat.

let it dry a few seconds.

then apply a top coat.(i usually apply with a lot on the brush so it stays smooth instead of getting lines on your polish)

then blow dry with a hairdryer.HOw do I get a perfct manicure at home??
Use tape or something to put around your toenail so that the edges are straight, and it doesn't go onto your skin. Use a good nail polish (high quality).HOw do I get a perfct manicure at home??
get a french manicure set...works great!
Start by taking off the old polish. Lift the cuticles with an orange stick (wood stick you can buy at beauty and drug stores) or cut the cuticles if that is what you prefer. File down the nails to the shape you want and run some nail polish remover to make sure the nails are not greasy (otherwise the polish won't stick well.) Apply clear base, then two coats of the color, let dry a bit and finish with a clear top coat. To keep it looking fresh, apply a coat of clear polish every other day and use cuticle oil to keep it moisturized.

Manicure? Do you do your nails or do you get them done?

what do you do to them?Manicure? Do you do your nails or do you get them done?
i get them done at the nail salon.Manicure? Do you do your nails or do you get them done?
I have acrylics so once every two weeks I go to get them done. My friends have them too and we usually go to get them together. I go to Happy Nails so Elena can do my nails. I also get a pedi every two weeks or so.
i used to have a french manicure, all the time, but i had them removed and now i just leave them plain, with a clean top coat. that's all.
i do both, but i'm bored i put on funky wierd colors.

but when i do have money or the spare time i get them done and i i have them put fake frenck tip nails.
if i'm going to a wedding or something i go and get a manicure at a nail salon but if i'm just normal i just clip them and paint them myself.
i get them done. its more easy for me
I have naturally long nails, luckily, and I manicure them myself. I do a french manicure every week, I have had years of practise, so it looks beautiul and perfect every time.
I do my own... sure the lines arent as straight as at the salon, and the petals on my flowers are uneven... but i still love em!
Get them done. They look alot nicer.
Full set, white tips or colored %26amp; glittery, or just plain colored. =)
I'm basically a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to my hair and nails because I hate spending hours in the beauty salon. I go only when I want to feel pampered. I have it down to a science now and I get a lot of compliments so I must be doing a fairly good job. I mostly do a French manicure but sometimes I paint them in bright colors.
i paint mine. i have a system now. i paint them all one colour, then when one nail colour chips off, i paint that nail a different colour, then if that chips off, i paint it another colour. the order for it is...orangey pink, silver, light pea greenish, black, red, light blue, green, bronzeish red, bright pink, then some more once i get them.

right now my nails are painted like this, left to right.

black, black, black, bronzeish red, light blue,

light pea green, red, light pea green, black, light pea green.

im 14 by the way, so thats why it doesnt sound especially mature.
    both
    haha.

both! sometimes, when my mom goes to the salon, and i'm waiting, i sometimes get a manicure. haha. and for formal events, yeah. just a plain color is like $7.
it depends sometime i do and sometimes i dont
i do them myself coz im not laze
    go to a nail salon,

unless you have a pro. nail kit,

and someone good to do them

for you at home or just a friend.

otherwise the nail salon is a way

    better choice. they look nicerr.
    I get mine done
